Day Seven: Thankful for My Dad

Back in August, when my dad lost his other leg to a BKA (below the knee amputation), I wasn't sure what the future would look like for him and us. After several months of healing, physical therapy and occupational therapy, my dad hit a major milestone on Monday. After trying on his new prosthetic legs for the first time just last Friday (where he stood using parallel bars), on Monday he was able to stand and take four steps (again using the parallel bars)! This is such a wonderful accomplishment and great momentum for him to continue to improve in standing and walking. The parallel bars are a great tool to help, but now he has the legs at home and is motivated to stand with just the walker. His PT comes tomorrow and I can't wait to hear all about his progress! I am so thankful to God, for the healing and progress made so far, and can't wait to see what my dad will accomplish next!

**Extra special thankfulness for my mom and her servant's heart in caring for my dad - but that deserves a separate post!!**
