Sesame Street Live!

On November 21st, Blake and I traveled with Melissa and Zoe to Green Bay to watch Sesame Street Live! The show featured Elmo and the rest of the gang and Blake LOVED it!! He waved to the characters and sang along with the songs. Cole, Owen, Karen, her sister, niece, nephew and mom joined us at the show. It was such a fun time and Blake had a blast with all of his best friends. It's the first time I've ever taken him to something like this and we will definitely be going back. Wish I could say the same for Zoe :( The poor thing was terrified of Grover. Thank goodness for popcorn! After the show we all went out for a great lunch at Hu Hot. Blake and Zoe fell asleep for most of the ride home and Melissa and I got to chat and catch up. It was a really fun day!

Pancreatic Cancer Walk 2010

In September we attended the Pancreatic Cancer Walk in memory of my wonderful Auntie Rosie. My cousin Kellie organizes a group every year to participate in the walk. We not only raise money for Pancreatic Research, but get the opportunity to reminisce about all the great memories we have of my Auntie. This year we stayed at Kellie and Jon's house the night before and spent hours watching home movies and telling stories. It was so nice to see my Auntie's face again (although Kell had to work hard to get the old VHS tapes to actually play!). The PanCan Walk is held at the Detroit Zoo and Blake really enjoyed getting to see the animals. I think he liked the giraffes the best! I loved getting to see my extended family. For some of them, it's the only time of year they get to see the boys which is one of the reasons I really look forward to going to the walk.

One of my goals during my maternity leave was to take some special "day trips" as a family. We decided to take the boys to the Eagle River Children's Museum in late August. The museum was great! There were several activities that were perfect for a 2 year old, along with activities for older kids that we'll be sure to do in the future. As luck would have it, the local news station was there filming a story so Luke and I got asked to share our thoughts on how we balance everything with two small kids and how we make time for eachother and our marriage. Luke quickly declined since he "would have to make something up" :) But I rattled off a few thoughts and then they took some nice footage of Drew hanging out in the Baby Bjorn and Blake and Luke playing around the museum.
