Day Three: Thankful for Wee Care

I am so thankful for the loving, caring teachers at Wee Care who take such wonderful care of our boys while Luke and I are at work. They boys are so happy to play and learn and it certainly lessens the guilt, knowing that they are in such a loving environment. Luke and I went to watch Blake's preschool Halloween program on Monday and I was so impressed with the way Miss Linda and Miss Paula gently encouraged the kids. They sang songs and performed their skit all while waving to mom and dad and "whispering" to us! It was hilarious! Drew's teachers, Miss Amanda and Miss Connie, were brave enough to load the little ones up in wagons so they could join the preschoolers trick-or-treating.

Day One: Thankful for Great Neighbors

Each day in November, several of my friends are posting on Facebook about things they are thankful for. I think this is a great idea and a good way to think about all the blessings we have. Instead of writing on Facebook, I thought it might be a good encouragement to blog more, if I wrote on here. So first up - I am thankful for our Neighbors. I am thankful for how they take care of us and spoil our kids. I am thankful to be surrounded by such loving, Christian families. This was especially evident on Halloween - between the neighbors who had special care packages for our kids, to those who asked us to stop back at their house twice since our kids were the only trick-or-treaters, to those who invited us over for a "spooky" supper and gifts for the kids. After searching for a house for over two years, it's a wonderful feeling to have found this awesome spot! (I'll post more Halloween pictures later on, but here are a few to get started):

Halloween 2010!

Since it's already December, I figured there's no better time to catch up on a Halloween post! We celebrated Halloween for four days this year! We have been blessed with getting costumes as gifts. Blake wore two different costumes this year. He was a pumpkin at Wee Care (thanks Nana!) and a bear for trick-or-treating (last year's costume still fit - thanks Sammy!). Drew was a pumpkin (thanks Uncle Jerry!) but was nearly busting out of his costume so we didn't keep him in it for too long. Blake had a party at Wee Care on Friday and went trick-or-treating to the bank and nursing home. His picture was in the paper so I had to buy several copies :) On Saturday we went to a Halloween party at Tom and Ann Brasure's new house. They had a bounce house, inflatable slide and horse-drawn wagon rides; plus a ton of yummy food. We had a great time! Then on Sunday we met up with the Doucette's, Menghini's, Seldon's and Baij's for a fun night of trick-or-treating and fellowship. Blake has to be the SLOWEST trick-or-treater. He just couldn't keep up with the big kids. So we only went to a dozen houses. Monday night we went to see a couple of our neighbors and the boys were spoiled some more! Miss Kathy made Blake and Drew special Halloween goodies bags filled with yummy treats and cupcakes for the whole family. It was a very fun four days!
